Potato Masala/Poori masala

Poori masala/potato masala is a very good combo for poori/puri.You can use this masala to stuff dosas or you can serve it with chappathis too.



Ingredients


Potato-3 medium(Boiled and mashed)

Onion-1/2 thinly sliced

Green chilli-2

Grated ginger-1 tsp

Turmeric powder-1tsp

Water-1cup

Coriander leaves-finely chopped


For Tempering




Oil -3tsp

Mustard seeds-1tsp

Urad dal-1/2tsp

Channa dal-1/2tsp

Curry leaves-few

Dried red chilli-1


Method


  • In a pan,add oil,once it hot add mustard ,urad dal,channa dal,curry leaves and dried red chilli and saute for 1 minute.


    • Add green chillies and grated ginger and saute

    • Add Sliced onion and saute till it become transulent

    • Add mashed potatoes


    • Add turmeric powder and give a good mix

    • Add water ,mix well and allow to boil for few minutes


    • Add chopped coriander leaves


    • Now Poori masala is ready.Serve it with hot poori’s


    Notes

    • You can add tomatoes also .that will give a different taste
    • You can even add finely chopped carrots and peas.
    • You can mix 2 tsp of beson flour in water and add ,it will give a nice creamy texture .
