Arbi Masala Fry/Colocasia fry/Taro root fry

Arbi Masala Fry is a delicious side dish recipe that goes well with sambar /rasam  or any variety rice.
It is very easy to make and kids will surely love this fry.It is very crispy and crunchy outside but it will be soft inside.It will taste amazing .




Ingredients 



Arbi/Colocasia/Taro root-6 medium sized
Red chilli powder-4tsp
Turmeric powder-1tsp
Garam masala-2 tsp
corn flour -1 tbsp
Rice flour -1 tbsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Cumin seed-1/2tsp
Curry leaves
Salt to taste 
oil to shallow fry.


Method 



  •  Clean the arbi in running water to remove all dirts .
  • Boil the arbi in required water .cook it till it become soft.Dont cook more than that it will get mushy.

  • Once it become cool,Peel the skin off and pat dry with kitchen towel to remove the extra moisture.


  • slice them into thin pieces.

  • In a bowl,add chilli powder,turmeric powder,garam masala and salt.coat the arbi well with the spices.

  • In another bowl,mix corn flour and rice flour and coat the marinated arbi with the flour(a thin coating).the flour gives a nice coating and crispiness to the fry.



  • Take a pan,add oil for shallow frying.once it become hot ,add mustard seeds,cumin seeds and curry leaves.Once the mustard and cumin seeds splutters,add the  marinated arbi in the oil.
  • Roast it well on both sides.
