Chicken Cutlet/Tikkis/Patties

Chicken Cutlets are loved by all especially kids which is very easy to prepare.It is a great appetizer you can serve in parties.It is prepared with boneless chicken and potatoes.You can replace the chicken with veggies,meat,fish ,paneer etc.




Ingredients



Onion - 1 big finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Green chilli - 2 Chopped
Potato - 2 boiled & mashed
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala – 11/2 tsp
Bread crumbs - 1 cup
Egg -2
Seasoned Corn flour -1 cup(add 1 tsp pepper ,salt to the corn flour)
Curry leaves-few finely chopped
Coriander leaves-finely chopped
Salt
Oil - for frying


To cook Chicken


Boneless chicken – 1lb Cubed
Pepper powder-1tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Ginger garlic paste-1tsp
Water-1/4cup
Salt




Method



  • First lets cook the chicken.Add the cubed chicken to the pan , pepper powder, turmeric powder , ginger garlic paste ,salt and water.Dont add more water because the chicken itself ooze out lot of moisture.




  • Cover the chicken and cook for few minutes.


  • Once the chicken is cooked,open the lid and stir till all moisture evaporates.
  • Transfer to a plate and allow the chicken to cool



  • Once the chicken become cool, shred the chicken using your hands or just blend it in the blender.


  • Now in a pan ,add oil, add onions, ginger garlic paste,chopped green chilli and saute for few minutes until it become soft and cooked


  • Add the chicken 


  • Add the spices chilli powder, garam masala and salt and saute for 2 minutes or so.


  • Transfer to a bowl.


  • Add mashed potatoes to it.

  • Add chopped curry leaves.

  • Add Chopped Coriander leaves


  • combine everything well.

  • Now roll them in to balls .

  • flatten it between the palms to give it shape.


  • Dip them in the seasoned corn flour.

  • now dip in the eggs .


  • Finally coat them well in the bread crumbs.



  • Likewise do for the remainining also.


  • fry the cutlets in hot oil in medium heat.

  • Once the chicken cutlet gets a nice brown color ,take them from the oil.Serve it with ketchup or green chutney.
  • You can also shallow fry or even bake them for a healthier version.
